Attention Fever Fans! Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever is Coming to Dreamworks and They Need Your Input!

Hey all you Fever Fanatics, Moning Maniacs and the like, did you know Dreamworks acquired the rights to Karen Marie Moning's Fever series? I know, I'm a little late in the game on posting this... but Dreamworks Studios wants to know the amount of interest fans have in seeing the entire franchise made into individual blockbuster movies.
  • If your a fan of the series and would like to see Dreamworks put forth serious effort into making this franchise, please visit DreamWorksStudios Facebook page by clicking HERE. Then "Like" their post "Darkfever is coming to Dreamworks" and make a comment underneath.

What do I think?
I'd personally like to see Dreamworks give this a try. But I'm equally scared at the same time. It could work if the right directors, screenwriters and actors are chosen. If they can pull it off in the same fashion Lord of the Rings was done, without castrating the story and sticking as close as realistically possible to Karen's vision, then I think it'll be a win win for everyone. *fingers crossed*

My preferences for director/screenwriter choices would be the dream team from Lord of the Rings of course (Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens), With maybe Anthony Dod Mantle (Slumdog Millionare, 127 Hours, 28 Days later) as director of cinematography?

Or maybe other choices like Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300), Guillermo del Toro (Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy's I&II), or Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception).

As far as picking someone to play Barrons, I think we need an unknown. He's going to be really hard to cast. It would need to be someone who can be enigmatic, menacing, intellegent and refined. Someone who can terrify the pants off you and arouse your suspicions while also drawing you in on a visceral level.

I'm also not real sure who I would choose for the Lead female character MacKayla Lane, although I've been toying around with the idea of Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass, Nikita).

For Dani O'Malley (who wouldn't be in the first film if it's made, but I have to put my two cents in anyway), right off the top of my head, I think of Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, Lovely Bones) or Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass). Ultimately, I'd go with Soairse as the most ideal choice since she's an Irish lass who grew up in County Carlow Ireland. And as we all know... Dani is an Irish lass.

I also think Jason Behr (Senseless, Last International Playboy, Shooting Livien) might make a good choice to play any one of the Fae since he has what I'd consider Fae-ish features. You'll probably remember him best for his role as Max in the TV series Roswell.

As for all the other characters (V'lane, Lord Master, Malluce, McCabe, O'Bannion, DEG, Fiona, Rowena, Alina... who am I missing here?) I haven't been able to come up with anything for these characters. Maybe sticking with unknowns is best?

So, you tell me... Are you excited or scared? Do you have preferences for character casting? What about directors or screenwriters? Speak up! I wanna know what you think.
