Movie News: Ridley Scott Bags Film Rights to Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson

Great news! Although, a little belated, I just found out that Ridley Scott bagged the film rights to Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson and he's hired Rowan Joffe to direct. Joffe is known for The American starring George Clooney, and the popular zombie film 28 Weeks Later. Which was the first film to remake the typically slow meandering brain eaters into something frighteningly quick and lethal.

I have to congratulate Mr. Watson. This is a pretty amazing accomplishment. Let me remind you that this book is his debut novel. I'm excited and thrilled for it to have such great success before it's even seen it's U.S. release date of June 14, 2011.

Before I Go To Sleep is one of several books that I've been impatiently awaiting their U.S. release dates. Along with Alma Katsu's The Taker due out September 6, 2011. I have these two, in particular, scheduled into my iPhone calendar with an alarm set. That's how ready I am to get my paws on them. And I think I just might have to add another one --Maria Dahvana Headley's Queen of Kings, due out May 12, 2011-- to my "highly anticipated" pile. That would be the top portion of my TBR list. Where books go when I just can't wait to read them.

Thanks for following my blog! That means a lot to me.

I haven't heard of this one before, but that's great that it's going to be made into a film! It's always interesting to see movie adaptions for books. Can't wait to hear what you think of it when it's finally released in the U.S.
